Pelvic Pain Symptoms in Women
The following symptoms in women are symptoms we typically treated in women. While there have been no formal studies on women, we have observed that women attending the Wise-Anderson immersion clinics we offer for muscle based pelvic pain and dysfunction have essentially the same positive results as men.
NOTE: Most women have 2-10 of these symptoms
- Vaginal pain
- Anal/rectal pain
- Pain around or above the pubic bone or in the area of the bladder
- Increased pain/discomfort with sitting
- Perineal pain
- Discomfort or pain with intercourse or sexual activity
- Increase of symptoms related to menstruation
- Increase of symptoms with stress and anxiety
- Urinary frequency
- Urinary urgency or hesitancy
- Pain with bladder filling/less pain with emptying bladder
- Pain during or after urination
- Pain during or after bowel movements
- Initiation of pain related to childbirth
- Anxiety about having sex
- Anxiety/catastrophic thinking/helplessness
- Depression
- Social withdrawal
- Impairment of self-esteem
- Heat (hot water) temporarily reduces symptoms
